However, Siemens AG of Germany is seen as a possible predator in the field. Its shares have remained relatively strong compared to weaker rivals.

I've not heard the rumor but I do know Siemens is taking market-share away from Ericsson at a pretty impressive rate. (I think in infrastructure more than handsets.)
