just what I was thinking too !!!!!!!!!
Now the crucial question is for how long we will have this advantage. I know BRCD also has 2G planned.......but QLGC is ready NOW.

Kind of nice to have it all ready.............the adaptor, the hub and the switches !
The market is looking quite ugly right now, but (relatively speaking) QLGC is holding up better than other networkers.

I think the market is looking ahead and balancing the tax cut news against the GOPs having lost the majority.

Personally I think the country is better off with both events. In my opinion the tax cut will be good for the American worker and business alike ( I just wish it were not so "delayed" over a long time horizon).
I also think that more bipartisan compromise will be a good/necessary strategy. It would be unfortunate for the country if every time that there is a new controlling force in Washington we would first dismantle the work done by previous administrations.

Bush is on record for having governed with a democratic majority in Texas, hopefully this will have been an important experience.

Ironic that it would be Greenspan to bring attention to fiscal policy ! This is what happens when you lock the monetary brakes indeed !

Now we are in the liquidity trap....................Fed policy is VERY limited..............monetary policy has to wait until the effect of these rate cuts start to take place. I doubt that any immediate cuts will result in any short run pickup of economic activity. In the long run..............yes they will ............but as Keynes said............in the long run we are all dead anyways !

P.S. the fed has been and should......continue to inject liquidity into the monetary system. This is as important right now as lowering rates, but will have more short term effect.
