KT, In Buffet's big speech that was linked here about a year ago he pointed out that about 1/3 of all the S&P 500 profits are lost in trading costs. That alone would make it difficult for traders to achieve the same growth rate as stocks get over the long haul (assuming the quantity of profits produced by corporations eventually matter again).
