I have to believe it's an exaggeration. Sure there is a tremendous push to get some functional validation for gene discoveries (LEXG is one play here), but I just don't believe that it's all going to be wrapped up in two or three years. There isn't even agreement about how many genes there are, let alone what they do (not to mention their splice variants).

Any comments from those better informed than I? Other plays in this space?
