Using only two sand-filled hourglasses, one that precisely measures seven minutes and the other four minutes, how can you use both to cook a nine minute egg?

Turn over both hourglasses simultaneously. When the sand runs out of the four minute hourglass turn it over. Likewise, when the seven minute hourglass has emptied, turn it over. Now when the four minute hourglass is again empty (after 8 minutes total) there will be one minute's worth of sand in the bottom of the seven minute hourglass. Turn it over and wait until all of the sand has emptied at 8+1 = 9 minutes.
