Why would Capitalism destroy the middle class? Who would buy its products? I'm not sure what you mean by Progressive Capitalism. Capitalism is progress as even you admit it even powers welfare states to some degree of prosperity. This would make the implied morality of progressive just that, implied and not proven. Anti'monopoly. If the people of the United States wanted to institute a policy of nuclear power generation they could easily bring the oil and gas companies to a lesser degree of power over the economy. Monopolies are difficult in a truly free and innovating economy. Coke and Pepsi are a virtual monopoly and they still compete fiercely. Creative destruction. The railroads were once kings and although they survive they are quickly becoming the conduits of data and information.....and now wireless is gaining share. The middle class was not saved because of your reasons but remains in spite of them. Graduated taxes saved the middle class like the atomic bomb saved lives. You attempt to imply that capitalism is a political system and it isn't whereas socialism most assuredly is.
