Cary,
After re-reading your post, i must admit i overreacted. I was going to delete that "little man" comment but I didnt want other folks to misunderstand Richards post. Anyway it wasn't a bad hair day, it was a bad haircut day. And I can't answer your question of whether i should be in the market or not. The nasdaq drop from 5100 to 1650 is still sinking in. If I lose my general optimism, I will exit.
I heard an economist today, Albert Wols.....r on PBS. Cant remember his name but it is a name from our eco 101 days. He was really old. He was commenting on good consumer spending numbers and he said that our(USA) "hard wired" optimism differentiates the US from all other economies and "will continue to". This has been my holy grail regarding US resilience in many areas. I really dont want to lose that "hard wired" optimism that i have had all my life. I have lived thru Jim Crowe America, Vietnam, Nixon and more and haven't lost it yet. How can a little bubble hurt? MIke
