STOCKWATCH Sun Microsystems falls after-hours on Q4 profit warning

SAN FRANCISCO (AFX) - Sun Microsystems Inc shares fell in extended-hours trade after the company issued a profit warning for the fourth quarter, predicting earnings of 2-4 cents a share -- sharply below the First Call/Thomson Financial consensus estimate calling for EPS of 6 cents, dealers said.

Sun said its sales will likely be in a range of 3.8-4.0 bln usd, also below the consensus estimate for sales of 4.42 bln usd.

At 5.51 pm in New York after-hours trade, Sun shares traded at 17.51 usd, down from their closing price of 18.67.
