I have been doing a bit of prowling across an assortment of threads and comparing current posting with what we were witnessing a year ago. WOW!

Many threads are essentially dead. Many others are virtually empty. Plenty of threads where the postings exceeded 100 per day are now limping along with a few per week. (check out the formerly bulging "Micron Only" thread as an example). Gone are the cheerleaders ("GOOOOOOOOO IOMEGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), absent are the worshipped gurus ("Just buy more Intel on this dip and quit worrying"), and AWOL are the put-down artists who heaped scorn on any who dared to suggest that the stock under discussion might be a bit over-valued.

As I commented more than a year ago, the web is going to look a lot different after this bubble market completes its deflating than its enthusiasts would have us believe. Carve out the stock-market-related stuff and one has a much skinnier net.
