well the BIG TIME shows are neat...but nothing compares with the hot, bouncing, smokey crowds at a really zippy show..for instance...Last night it's off to Antone's, Home of the Blues, for the regular Blue Monday show..tonight we have the house band, which could kick the piss out of any band on the planet..any style..any night..perhaps that's why Buddy Guy only shows up with his guitar....he doesn't need anything else..he couldn't hire a better band..BLue MOnday band .....Up onstage with is the great Ray Benson (Asleep at the WheeL)..now Ray is know as a swing guy but he played and sang some really nice bluesy tunes..with a swang underneath. Then he did a really fantastic version of "Georgia", the signature tune of another Ray.....Charles. This guy Benson has been in the biz for many many years. It ain't about money. He put it all out on the table on several tunes vocally. It was a truly inspiring set enjoyed by the 25 people in attendance. Later it was off to the Flamigo Cantina, our local Reggae Joint, for a tribute to the great Micheal E. Johnson. He passed away last week. His band "the Killer Bees" was on the Reggae map for 2 decades. It was just an amazing show. Horns horns bass bass beat beat groove groove giutar guitar..I can't even describe it. Blew my mind. I saw the best Trombone solo of my life....just amazing

My point is that last night was better than any big show or planned event that could ever happen. IT was just magical

thanks for listening.

Ps-- i love all types of music ..as long as it's good...Shanias and Twains need not apply
