The company has provided a progress report on its AutoNet System beta test
program, which is under way with Metro Parking Ltd.
The company met with Metro's management and operational staff June 11 1997
and reviewed the day to day operations of the AutoNet hand held Epson
computer, which is being used to produce parking citations while
communicating real time via radio frequency to the head office host
computer. It was noted in reviewing the AutoNet systems operation that
communication glitches, which had periodically caused some problems early
stages of the beta test, have now been rectified through software tuning.
The parking patrol personnel are now experiencing uninterrupted radio
frequency operation in their citation issuing activities 24 hours a day 7
days a week. Plans are now in progress to expand the focus of the AutoNet
System's operation within Metro to align head office reporting activities
to field operations.
The company's AutoNet citation issuing parking enforcement system is based
on a hand held Epson computer which features fall touch screen
functionality with a built thermal printer for ticket issuing while
communicating wirelessly in a real time mode to the parking organizations
host computer system. The AutoNet product's ability to operate in a
wireless interactive made over a radio frequency wide area network brings a
new level of technology to the parking industry.
