Odd about 'The Big Country.' Willam Wyler & Heston would make Ben-Hur two years later and win like 11, 12 Academy Awards, but Big Country is forgotten. Guess everyone was sick of Westerns at that point. Look at the tepid reaction 'The Searchers' received when it was released in 1956. TCM ran a letterbox of 'The Searchers' recently, god, what a difference.

Didn't know that about Burl Ives.
