Just an opinion.
Paper money ,scrip,or letters of credit, have been around for centuries.Their nominal worth was tide to gold or silver or grain or what ever.Their "actual" worth or "discount" was determined by the likelyhood of being honored.
Buying gold essencially means one has lost faith in the economic integrity,or honor, of the world economy .
Nothing strange in that.
I see The world planning to inflate itself out of a bad mess.I dont want to have EVERYTHING riding on investments based on fiat currencies,ie dollar, euro ,yen.....Why gold?Ican't think of anything better.
Wrong or right it is a hedge against the worst,or else I would not do it.
Ps I enjoy reading all the posts here.
