ACTV Launches HyperTV(R) 3.0
New Release Eliminates Proprietary Plug-In, Offers Improved Ease of Use and On-Screen Look
NEW YORK, May 30 /PRNewswire/ -- ACTV, Inc. (Nasdaq: IATV - news), a digital media company specializing in interactive television and enhanced media technologies, announced today the latest release of HyperTV®, its patented system for synchronizing television programming with online content.
HyperTV® 3.0 represents a significant upgrade for television viewers eager to enjoy enhanced media content on their PCs and interactive set-tops. While previous HyperTV® versions required users to download a proprietary plug-in to experience HyperTV® content, HyperTV® 3.0 doesn't require a plug-in download and install. By integrating with Macromedia's dynamic presentation Flash technology, HyperTV® 3.0 insures that HyperTV® content will appear the same on all interactive platforms.
HyperTV® 3.0 offers several other improvements to the on-screen experience, including the ability to create and display high-impact graphics and animations that use all of the screen's real estate for greater advertising and sponsorship branding impact. In addition, the 3.0 architecture will support the delivery of dynamic, real-time and personalized information, such as scoreboards and data feeds. The new system also will simplify and provide more flexible authoring capabilities to HyperTV®content developers, who until now have worked within the software's four-quadrant environment.
