I STILL think my assertion about priests and child abuse is very relevant. Religion clearly isn't the answer to stemming child abuse. Good laws (made by agnostics or atheists even) prohibiting the sexual exploitation of children, good reporting, and good follow through by social services are what is needed.

People who have lots of faith, may, unfortunately, place it in the wrong people or concepts. I can't tell you the number of cases where women had "faith" that their husbands would never sexually abuse their children, even though there was manifest evidence to the contrary. Denial ain't just a river in Egypt. And religion prepares you for denial in a major way (imo).

I wonder why Greg is so hung up on pedophilia. Do you wonder that?
