That is true for many, but unfortunately some people don't "get it", or they simply lack the intelligence to do so. Most simply wouldn't have the money to gain those new skill sets, yet they must skill earn enough for food, clothing and shelter... and that's exactly what I would like to see: a core set of minimums, including education/training for displaced workers and anyone else that requires it... preferably *before* they require it.

And what do you think unions would do to remedy that situation?

Many would ask for outlandish pay increases, but this merely helps balance out w/ business' desire of lower pay. Again, I'm not the biggest fan of unions... but they do have a place in our society. Some have too much power, but most do not.
