Novellus (NVLS) 46.63 -2.94: Tucker Anthny Sutro reiterates UNDERPERFORM; mid-quarter update scheduled for May, 31, 2001; expects further weakness with potential slowing of copper and 300 mm; says outlook remains poor.

Texas Instruments (TXN) 33.98 -2.57: ABN AMRO initiates coverage with a HOLD; firm believes TXN is faced with two significant issues; growth rate of the handset market going forward and increasing competition in DSP's; notes that TXN lost substantial market share in 2000 and believes further loss cannot be ruled out.

Minn Mining & Mfg (MMM) 117.58 -2.17: Coming out of investor day, management sees 2000 EPS of $4.75 to $5.00, current First Call EPS is $4.86; noted during its Q1 conferemce call that it expects more moderate earnings growth this year due to the weak U.S. economy, the slowdown in international economic growth and a persistently strong dollar.

Vodafone PLC (VOD) 25.70 -1.15: JP Morgan, reports that company's full year results were in-line with firm's and consensus estimates; however, does not foresee any short-term catalysts for VOD or the sector.
