Purple Noon - this is an older better version of the not-bad recent movie "The Talented Mr. Ripley". What is amazing is that this 1960 movie has a very modern look to it. Apparently the director kept it out of circulation until recently so it is not well known. Here is data from videoflicks.com Foreign Films, English , 1960, Color, 125 min. NTSC, Rating: PG-13 (MPAA), CC Synopsis: Sent to Italy to retrieve an American industrialist's wayward son, a charming young man finds his target and gets caught up in the high life. While on a yacht excursion he murders the man he's supposed to bring back to America, returning to Rome to take the dead man's identity. An acclaimed adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's 1955 novel, 'The Talented Mr. Ripley.' Other great movies: Monsieur Hire (French with subtitles), North by Northwest, The Good The Bad and The Ugly, 2001.
