I agree everyone has a right to lobby. However, those with money get listened to b/c of the current state of our political system. Those without money are often ignored. Campaign finance reform attempts to address these problems. "Anti-constitutional" is a bit strong, isn't it? I hope you don't buy (pardon the pun) that bogus reasoning of the SCT that money=speech. I believe that we would see a great deal more of legislation that you and I want (i.e. "the political will"), as opposed to that which benefits big donors, if some reform was put in place.
I don't know what you are talking about, re: Carter.
I am represented by C.W. "Butch" Otter, formerly our Lt. Gov., and proud owner of some really tight jeans (he won a tight jeans contest in some bar), some really big hair (he could win a contest in some bar), a big bass pond which he was fined $50k for by EPA after removing some ample wetlands, and little else to speak of. How is Rep. Johnson?
I prefer to think of myself as a true skeptical, as opposed to simply being another parrot. As a true skeptic, my time with the local D. organization is limited to plotting its overthrow. <g> The local and state D's are lost sheep, waiting for a shepherd. They have already been well-sheared by the Rs in Idaho and are directionless. Funny that you ask about my activity, as I have two lunches and a coffee planned with co-conspirators this week. I'll let you know when my plotting comes to fruition.
