Andreas - I tend to be an optimist.. and since i dont own AMD stock or anything else I feel it helps the viewpoint with no money to cloud the issue.

This thread gravitates between incredibly over positive to incredibly over negative. ... right now it leans to the latter... normally.. things end up for AMD falling somewhere in the middle.
I will repeat my assertion/prediction that AMD will slowly do ok... and it will be 2nd tier server companies and DIY'ers that will help get AMD over the hump if there arent a lot of major OEM's on June 4.. It at least has a presence now in both server and mobile markets (I believe it will do reasonably well in mobile).,, and thats better then it had before - which was nil.. (K6-2 notwithstanding)

As for the ever present threat of Intel.. I dont believe its the invulnerable giant anymore that it once was - Athlon has proven that...the decision to go with Rambus, the i850, Timna, P-1.13 and so forth proves that even more...(and the seemingly wide acceptance of HyperTransport will prove that down the road if this positive trend continues)... you should have respect for them.. but dont overestimate them.

People may save this message if they wish and lets see in a few months to a year whether I am right or the pessimistic thread is.

Heck Andreas.. you work with Zdnet Germany.. why dont you interview the fellas at AMD and see what they think of your charges they've dropped the ball? I'd love to see the response ;)
