I was looking at movie trailers using ONT's VP3. Fine picture, but the encoding level was quite high. And odd.
Normally when you right click on the stream and select statistics it will lock in on a single encoding rate (for instance the superb couch confessions picture - though just talking heads - is encoded at 180 if I recall). ONT"s seesawed from 353..then 999...then 353..then 999....very high even at the lowest. The swing must have some relation to the technique they use. Haven't checked out the VP4 yet.
