Rumor Mill

That CIBC World Markets is ready to cut earning estimates for
Juniper Networks' (NASDAQ:JNPR) June quarter from 25-cents to
22-cents and their forecast for 2001 from $1.00 per share to
92-cents. The First CAl consensus estimate is for quarterly
earnings of 24-cents and 96-cents for 2001. The broker is citing
weak demand and the anticipation that the firm will make no new
product introductions at next weeks Supercomm trade show.

Network equipment manufacturer Redback (NASDAQ:RBAK) was moving
today on speculation that it is a takeover candidate for Alcatel
(NYSE:ALA). The stock gained 18-cents to close at $13.88.

There are rumors that Goldman Sachs is expecting software giant
Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL) to warn on Friday or Monday. They added that
the a disappointment may already be built into the share price and
expects a downside of only 1 to 2 points if the warning comes to
fruition.
