What You Should Do If You Are The Victim of Price Gouging
You should file a complaint with the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs, which may fine the wrongdoer and suspend or revoke their license to do business.
You should also file a complaint for damages in D.C. Superior Court. Under D.C.'s consumer protection law, you may be awarded three times the amount of damages you suffered or $1,500 (whichever is greater) for such an illegal trade practice.
