A new Australian Financial Review article has been posted on yahoo... begins at messages.yahoo.com

Excerpt: "The $3 million figure was based on it finally breaking into the huge but elusive
automotive market by finalising a licensing agreement with at least one of the tier-one
suppliers with which it is negotiating, which include Delphi, Siemens or Nippon Denso.

But that did not eventuate, partly because the party with which it was close to signing a
deal sought to take advantage of the timing pressure Orbital had put itself under with its
financial forecast.

Orbital's chief executive, Mr Kim Schlunke, remains confident of sealing at least one of
those by the end of this financial year. But the company, perhaps belatedly, has opted
for conservatism and is not factoring any of the lumpy revenue that flows from major
new licensing agreements into the anticipated loss for the second half."

That middle paragraph is what aggravates me so. Orbital gave its opponents in negotiations its bullets and has cost us millions in future revenues and delayed implementation of OCP. The responsible person needs to, at a minimum, be reassigned. 12/19/00 is looking like it was the high water mark for OE.
