regarding compatibility issue with za2.6 and npf on win95....

just now reading through a scot finnie newsletter in which he is reviewing and comparing npf and za. he has published an email from a zonelabs support person alluding to the new release's numerous issues. this excerpt i found interesting....

"One thing I should point out as a general observation is that since we 'hardened' security at the operating system level, ZoneAlarm and ZoneAlarm Pro load earlier in the boot process. As a result, some configuration issues can occur. This can vary, depending on the version of Windows that is on the PC and on other programs that are loading on that PC."

more later as i find it, or i'll just post the whole scot finnie segment on za.

hmmmm, maybe i should switch your earlier idea around and try putting a shortcut to za in my startup folder and letting it load from there instead of the normal loading process? as you speculated then, this may alter the loading sequence and solve the problem. trouble is, each of these programs have check boxes that ask if i want their product to load on start up, and i wonder if this doesn't make the start up folder ploy null and void? well, there's only one way to find out, huh? more later...

:)
