NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Stocks are looking to stage somewhat of a rebound Thursday following Wednesday's rout, which took virtually every sector lower.

June S&P 500 futures put on 4.90 points, or 0.4 percent, and were trading about 5.20 points above fair value, according to HL Camp & Co. And Nasdaq futures added 13.50 points, or 0.8 percent.

On the government bond front, prices were mixed in anemic action out of the gate.

The 10-year Treasury note was up 2/32 to yield ($TNX) 5.50 percent while the 30-year government bond edged down 1/32 to yield ($TYX) 5.84 percent.

Thursday will see the release of weekly initial claims as well as the Chicago Purchasing Managers Index. But Friday will see the week's main event -- the May employment report. View Economic Preview and economic calendar and forecasts.

Checking currencies, dollar/yen fell 1.1 percent to 119.05 while euro/dollar dropped 0.8 percent to 0.8482.
