DALLAS, May 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Luminant Worldwide Corporation (Nasdaq: LUMT - news), a leading provider of technology-enabled business solutions, continues to achieve world-class recognition with awards for design of two of its consumer packaged goods Web sites. The 2000 International Web Page Awards honored Luminant recently in San Jose with the Best in Category Award for a Product Purchase Web site as well as two Creative Excellence Awards.
This recognition from the International Web Page Awards marks the second consecutive year that Luminant has won for Best in Category and had two Web sites win Creative Excellence Awards. One of this year's Creative Excellence Award-winning sites, www.maybelline.com, was developed for Maybelline, LLC. The site successfully extends the Maybelline brand through innovative marketing concepts, including the Maybelline 5, a competition in which five young women were selected to tell their stories online, and the Maybelline Scene, an entertaining, informational fashion, beauty and lifestyle e-newsletter. To develop the Web site, Luminant leveraged its combined expertise in creative and information technology as well as its specialized industry knowledge in consumer brands.
The International Web Page Awards have become the largest international Web site design festival on the Internet with more than 700 entries competing from 22 different countries this year. For the awards program's authenticity and the quality of its award winners, Wired magazine rated the International Web Page Awards as one of the top five Internet awards programs in the world. According to www.webpageawards.com, the awards were created with the designer in mind to bring recognition to graphic artists, Web site designers, advertising agencies, corporations, companies and individuals who wish to spotlight their creativity in interactive design.
``These awards for creative excellence highlight the value Luminant brings to its clients by building innovative business solutions that build deep brand loyalty with consumers,'' said Jim Corey, Luminant chief executive officer and president. ``The focus of Luminant's expertise in distribution/consumer packaged goods industry solutions enables us to develop sites that achieve outstanding critical and user success.''
