I took a look at the Investment Company Act. It is so vaguely worded, with so many ifs, ands, and buts, that lawyers could fight over it from here to eternity. I am sure that Malone has a strategy for dealing with this issue. In any case, the price action in LMG.A seems to indicate that the institutions aren't too worried. I think there is a general feeling that Liberty Media will be valued more highly in the market, once it breaks off from The Dinosaur. The stock will then represent real assets. Tracking stocks are strickly smoke and mirrors, in my opinion.
