Essentially a flat open on COMPX. COMPX climbed from there to near resistance level of 2128. In ability to break 2124 resistance level shows the weakness of the psychology of traders. Economic numbers showed economy is weaker than expected. This should be no surprise as most companies were guiding for an additional down Q in earnings and revenue this Q. The key to earnings will be whether they can beat the severe cut earnings estimates. Given the impact seems to have been the greatest last Q. I would expect the majority to beat this Q.

Resistance levels: COMPX 2128, SOX 600

Market Outlook
Mauled by the Bears
By:Adam Martin
Stocks have been volatile, but remain in the green at this hour in spite of some downbeat analyst comments and earnings reports. The sense among some analysts is that yesterday's market was oversold, and this morning's slight bounce is a correction. Overall, a bull will tell you good things are coming, and for the rest of the year we're not likely to see levels as low as we did in March. Economic data and comments from a member of the Federal Reserve point to more weakness, but also indicate expectations of a recovery later this year. Weekly jobless claims released this morning came in a bit higher than expected, and could offer some clues as to tomorrow's highly anticipated May employment report, which could offer a hint as to how the Fed will manage future rate cuts.
