I wouldn't crank it up as any major threat at least in the near term. First of all, existing 32-bit applications will not likely migrate without extensive redesign. 64-bit versions that are optimized for this processor are a good year away or more. Secondly Alpha is a moving target as well so I would expect technology and speed bumps in the future to stay competitive.
