Ali:
Rambus today cannot hold more than 1GB of RAM per channel, since only 2 RIMMs can work more or less reliably
on a channel.

Rambus has repeater technology that Dell, Compaq, and others have used for over a year for the 840 chipset solutions. There are still implimented on 860 chipset solutions to be released on June 5 for the new XEON processors. Currently up to 4 GB is possible on two RDRAM channel systems.

I think you and Sun should learn the technology better before you decide that RMBS is dead, dead, dead. At least carl and scumbria openly profess their knowledge of all the PC related technology.

Your asking relatively naive questions either brings up the issue either you people really don't know the answers to these basic questions or you beg feedback from the thread to spawn additional posts that will continue to go up a blind alley.
