Gordon,
I have, always, believed that, if a person of 18 can go into the service with the possibility of putting his/her life on the line for this country, they should, most certainly, have the right to vote, and drink if they want to.
All I would ask, is that they do not drink, and drive. I was guilty of that myself in the past and, although I never killed or seriously injured another person, I can look back and see what a menace to society that I was.
I don't know about other states, but I never had a problem getting beer in Texas from the time I was 15, and never had a fake, or anyone elses, ID. I must add that, that was in 1950, so times were a bit different. There didn't seem to be so many bleeding heart liberals around, or they were just called Socialists, which is what many of them are.
