Margin requirements have already been cut... the new regulations pertaining to pattern day traders require an account balance of $25,000 for use of margin but up the margin allowances from 100% of capital to 300% of capital effectively tripling margin potential. the changes take effect officially in September. It will be interesting to see what effect it has on the market. rok
