"Please step back a moment and consider what has actually happened historically in the face of these claims and adhering to these beliefs." You don't have to go far back. In fact there is plenty of info in our current affairs. The whole world could be one religion and these things would continue. The whole world could be athiestic and they would continue. Its the World dude. Scriptures don't deny the condition of the world or religious people. The references to hypocrisy appear in all of the religous scriptures as well as warnings about all of the other horrendous things. I don't blame God.
