Is life better than in 1913.

Depends on how you slice it.

We now have a society that at best gets two weeks vacation per year. A wife and husband working their asses off for what, a house crammed on top of a neighbor with no time to be with family.

Oh but we have TV, cars, technology - even more to waste the time to have quality time interacting with one another.

And cars, energy - all the better to pollute the land and water so that we are getting to the point that the birth rate is dropping along with the quality of air and water.

Shall I go on..... Sure certian things are better, but many are much worse today. At times I envy those that lived in those times. Life was much more simple but also much more rewarding IMO.
