Re: "The Bush girls look older and more sophisticated than their youthful age, to their possible detriment with the media and Bush detractors. Chelsea Clinton by contrast always looked like a punky little twit (and still does)."

It's nice to know there are still people in this world who judge young ladies based on appearance, rather than behavior or accomplishments. Perhaps you ought to submit your name as a judge at the next Miss America competition. You have such remarkable insight into both beauty and character.

Re Chelsea and this alleged gag order: Perhaps Chelsea didn't get her name in the news a lot because she didn't run afoul of the law. That's a novel concept, isn't it? Prior to Jenna Bush's recent legal troubles, name the stories written about the twins. Bzzzzz! Time's up. There were very few. In fact, the press gave the Bush girls the same leeway they gave Chelsea Clinton. In fact, there was no "media conspiracy."

I will be more than happy to expand on my statement that most of the media in this country is Republican-right wing.

AM "bash" radio: Decidedly right-wing. Ollie North, Rush Limbo, Sean Hannity, Dr. Laura Schlessinger, virtually everyone on 50,000 watt WLW out of Cincinnati.

Network TV: Still probably leans to the left. But then again, network TV doesn't have the clout it once had. I can't tell you the last time I watched a Rather or Brokaw newscast all the way through.

Public TV (PBS and C-Span): Middle of the road. God bless 'em.

Cable TV: Definitely leans to the right (O'Reilly, Matthews, Sean Hannity, Fox News.) That's where the viewers are ... on the right.

Internet: Definitely leans to the right. If SI has any bellcow status, there are more right-wingers who post here than left-wingers.

Newspapers: With the exception of the N.Y. Times, L.A. Times, Boston Globe, Washington Post, few others, the 1,600 or so newspapers in this country are decidedly Republican vs. Democrat.

Magazines: They come in every persuasion and flavor.

What have I missed? Add 'em all up, and on one side you have a handful of major newspapers, along with Dan Rather, Geraldo, a few people on MSNBC, and a few local left-leaning talk-show hosts.

On the other side is pretty much everyone else.

If you don't like my breakdown, I shall eagerly await your expert analysis. I hope it's as erudite as your analysis of presidential daughters based on looks.
