"I don't believe the unknowable is knowable." Einstein and Spinoza would both disagree with your statement. Einstein said the most unusual aspect of the universe is how knowable it is.

A famous physicist once said the universe would be knowable even if we lived on a world with total cloud cover provided we had some basic laws of physics at hand.

We know that your group has no imagination and does not trust it's subjective senses. "Duh Island" is really a step in your evolution back down the tree. You are simply not prepared to evolve further and must go back.
