COCONUT CREEK, Fla., June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Food Concepts, Inc.(BB: JAVA) announces that it plans talks today, Friday, June13, 1997, with the principles of a coffee roaster company in Dade County, FLto discuss a possible merger. The coffee company will not only add over a million dollars in revenues, but also will increase Food Concept's roasting capacity three-fold. Additional details will be available on Monday.
Food Concepts, Inc. has expanded its coffee-related lines of business with several subsidiaries. One of the subsidiaries, Savon Coffee Lovers Coffee, Inc. is a roaster, packager, and seller of finely roasted coffees, and manufactures over 70 flavored coffees. Savon has recently introduced a unique new coffee product, "Grizzly Adams Wilderness Coffee" and has begun a national roll-out of the product featuring, appropriately, actor Dan Haggerty. Palm Beach Gourmet Coffee Company, Inc. is an advertising specialty sales company,
which adapts Savon's packaging to the corporate logo of the vendor who uses these packets. Food Concepts, Inc. has a working license agreement with Ginsburg Enterprises, Inc. to license the marks and logo of Mr. Food to a complete coffee product line, and is presently marketing Mr. Food's coffee in major supermarkets. Food Concepts, Inc. also has a licensing agreement with the Cigar Box Company, whereby, as they expand in additional retail locations,
Savon coffee will be included.
