While I certainly am no expert in high-frequency technology, after reading a little about it:

I think that the smart antennas would still benefit from the low insertion loss and selectivity of the superconducting filters. Whether the carriers would need a double improvement would be a question.

In general though technologies such as superconducting filters have always been the most vulnerable from improvements in existing technology. It took GaAs a loooong time to overcome improvements in silicon technology.
