Carl, Forgive me for not knowing these basics after so long: Could you show me the math that gives 3.2GB/s for the RDRAM setup and 1.6GB/s for DDR? Is it that, per channel, Rambus is doing 2-Byte accesses at 800MHz versus DDR doing 8-Byte accesses at 200MHz on only one channel? And since Rambus has two channels, it has twice the bandwidth of DDR? So, even if DDR has 4 sockets, it will still only be one channel, and therefore, still only 1.6GB/s, or 1.9GB/s if you want to use DDR266. If I have this right, then what they are implying is that it is much easier and cheaper for RDRAM to have a second channel than it is for DDR, right? wily
