yes ma'am..that was also the lineup for Clapton's 1st solo LP. Russell's "Song for You" has been known to bring tears to my eyes on many occasions. Leon plays around these parts a couple times a year. Apparently he and Willie are buddies

this is one of my favs from that LP

Easy Now
by Eric Clapton
Holding you, you holding me,
Everyone could see we were in ecstasy.
Making love against the wall,
Feeling very small when we didn't need to be.

Easy now; don't let my love flow out of you.
Please remember that I want you to come too.

Oh my darling, help me please.
When I'm without you I fall down and graze my knees.
I look so funny and I feel sad,
Your love is all I've ever had, so please don't tease.

Chorus

Yesterday, you know tomorrow,
Could it be I'll have to borrow someone new?
I know that I'm the one to blame,
But all the same, there must be something you can do.

That is also the point in his career when he STOLE JJ Cale's style. He's done several of JJ's tunes over the years and in light of his obscure life-style I bet JJ made more off royalties from the EC versions than he ever made on his own stuff. There is actually a JJ song on the new "Pilgrim" CD (Travelin Light). It's really embarrassing how much he takes from Mr CALE.

take a listen:

disclosure: although I consider myself a lifelong Clapton fan I believe he sold out a long time ago...right after Behind the Sun, which coincides with his hooking up with that puke-meister Phil Collins around the LIVE_AID days.

JJ, on the other hand, is the real deal and one of my absolute fav artists of all time. Can't get enough of Mr Cool, er Cale
