<I consider myself part of the CFZ, and here. I talk about past data because so many people misrepresent it, and misunderstand it, woefully. >

You ARE part of CFZ and here... that's not what I meant... I just see you disagreeing with stuff that is debated by economists themselves, so if you claim past data is being misrepresented [like??] then you seem to do the same IMO:

If your going to claim that gold hasn't held up as a store of value... it's encumbant on YOU to present something more than a claim that it underperformed by a "hair"... thats a BIG claim. FWIW: IMO every time I've seen [in my experience as an investment banker and trader] hicups in various financial markets there is always some interest in GOLD, this tells me that if it happens again, there will be again... for me it's enough.

<How does one know what trends are favorable and unfavorable without knowing how they played out in the past?>

My point is that there is never Ceterus paribus so why bother. It seems clear to me that those following Mises think a financial calamity including ensuing currency debauchment is imminent and you do not... is this correct? Well, let's see! Place your bets, we all have.
