My impression is that liberals love to engage in discussions of positions in opposition to theirs. Of course it's not very edifying if the discussion is typical of that of the many conservatives who respond to any attempt to introduce into the discussion observations with which they disagree, or want to disagree --such as Paul Krugman's regarding the tax bill--the comments he's a liberal she's a liberal they're liberals liberals liberals he's a liberal it's the liberals liberal liberals he's a liberal she's a liberal they're liberals liberals liberals he's a liberal it's the liberals liberal liberals he's a liberal she's a liberal they're liberals liberals liberals he's a liberal it's the liberals liberal liberals liberal liberal liberal liberal....

Sometimes their "discussion" consists of leftie leftie leftie instead.

It's just so stupid and boring, just as "right wing" as one's main response to any proposition would be boring.

There are those on the left and on the right who know how to argue respectably and responsibly, and those who don't.

Those who don't virtually by definition are the politically correct and the ideologue. I would say that both of those factions are also, to borrow your word, 'elitist,' in that they believe themselves to be so... intellectually and morally speshull.

I'm wondering, btw, if you were implying that you have some reason to label me, personally, a liberal? I assume not; I assume that this was generic observation. If that was, in fact, a "you liberal" post, i'll be happy to provide you with posts of mine taking positions decidedly untypical of liberals, while you provide me with some in which I take a liberal position.
