"Well if we are going to discuss Islam..."...Well, If you are going to, I should point out a couple of things for you, as these are common misconceptions.

1) We do not consider God to be either Male or Female. God is beyond limiting descriptors such as this. It is true that we use the masculine "he" and this is the language of the Quran. But the Quran clarifies that this is just because of the limitations in human language.

2) There is no such thing as a Mohammedan. We don't worship Mohammad or consider him as a go between in getting us "saved." In some cultures that celebrate his birthday but the religion says not to. No pictures or statues or anything like that exist because of the fear that people might start attributing divinity to these objects. The message he delivered (the Quran) is God's not Mohammeds. He lived an ideal life which was documented thoroughly and we use it as a model for ourselves. But, each of us must personally take responsibility for the condition of our soul. There are no priests. The closest thing is going to a religious scholar for advice.

Mohammad lived a good human life but he was not divine in any way. We don't worship anything or anybody but God.
