The energy problem is that suppliers know there's no one watching the regulatory store except their own cronies who will do nothing to stop gouging or polluting. Meanwhile public opinion erodes for Bush every time someone fills up their tank or has to pay an outrageous gas or electrical bill. They know a percentage of that was given away to campaign donors to get GW elected. Now just wait until the polluting increases. The Democratic Senate may in fact save Bush by keeping his cronies in check.
