Unfortunately, there are so many people that view Ampex as only a one issue company, that the current price is reflecting the uncertainty of the situation regarding Keepering Media. If one forgets about KM and only looks at the estimated EPS for 1997 of 50 cents, then by using a multiple of 15-20 one comes out with a price of $7.5-10.00. The 1998 EPS is roughly 80 cents-greater than a 50% growth. If we weren't dealing with AXC, what type of multiple do you think the Street would afford a company that is expected to have a >50% increase in their earnings? Now, having answered this question, what do you think the Street would give us( in regards to a multiple) if and when KM is utilized by a major DD manufacturer?

When I decide to invest in a company there are a number of things that I look at:
1) Management
2) Earnings
3) Debt
4) Growth prospects
5) Quality of Customers
6) Company that is currently being ignored by Wall Street

I'm sure others with more investing experience than I do may have a better investing technique than what I am currently using.(please feel free to jump in) Ampex is one of a couple companies that I have invested heavily into. I'm not usually a trader and will hold my stocks for the long term. As for a price target-who knows? However, I wouldn't rule out a figure much higher than last years high.
