McCain is anything but wise. I find him to be a mumbling moron, as are most of his (very few) supporters. McCain quit because he didn't get any votes, pure and simple. That realization is what has pushed him to the far-left of the poltical spectrum. In Arizona Republican politics, he has burned his bridges, and is politically dead and buried. If he chooses to remain in the party for the rest of the current session, he cannot be trusted by the caucus, and will certainly receive no favors that he doesn't trade for. Finally, his presidential hopes-which were a pure media fabrication in 2000-are DOA for 2004.

In other words, when Jeffords beat him to the jump point recently, it effectively ended his career on the national level. It is slowly sinking in for him. It is obvious to all of the rest of us...
