That's not really the case, it's a myth that is pushed in the book Buffetology and by WEB himself - he tends to keep quiet when he sells, and even when he finishes selling he doesn't say much. I don't think he likes to sell but he does. He seems more ready to admit to selling mistakes than when he finally sells things that did well but have little or negative potential left. Of course, when he acquires the whole company he never sells it again.
In reference to an earlier post, as for some Buffett errors, how about Dempster Mill, Guiness as well as US Air and Kaiser Aluminum, I'm sure I can dig out more. His approach developed over time, though he still seems to be buying Graham type plays now.
The recent purchase of SJR doesn't make any sense to me as it seems to have a P/E of 60.
If you grabbed BRKB at the low, well done. In retrospect I should have acquired some under 1500.
I bought at 2000 on the way down to the low and at about 1550.
