EMC is already using Seagate's 180 GB drive in its top of the line Symmetrix (8xxx series) which went from 19TB to 70TB in about a year's time. According to them, Seagate is going to push 500 GB and 1 terabyte drives fairly quickly in its roadmap. That's not surprising. 180GB drives selling for more than $2,000 are more fun to make and sell than 10GB drives selling for less than $50.
