Prodeo Technologies Announces Sale of H6000 Series Horizontal Furnaces in China
TEMPE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 2001--Prodeo Technologies Inc. (OTCBB:PDEO), a provider of engineering and manufacturing solutions to the semiconductor industry, today announced its first sale into China.
The order, worth approximately $900,000, consists of two Model H6404 horizontal furnace systems that are scheduled for delivery in mid-July 2001 to a well-respected semiconductor manufacturer.

"In spite of the recent industry downturn, there are pockets of opportunity around the world, especially for companies such as Prodeo with quality products and first-class customer service," said Kevin Jackson, the company's chief operating officer.

Prodeo Technologies provides a total turnkey furnace system. Each system, including Prodeo's proprietary ultra-high purity (UHP) gas delivery system, is built to meet specific customer requirements, including guaranteed process results.

"Our highly experienced technical team has the capability to work with customers down to the actual device level," according to Ron Colvin, vice president and director of sales and marketing. "We provide a total solution in terms of hardware and process integration to existing as well as new device fabrication processes.

"We believe our furnace product line is continuing to make its presence felt in the industry. This has been confirmed by our increasing market share, and our recent selection as the worldwide system of choice by a major semiconductor manufacturer. This order confirms that our technology and designs are exactly what is needed in this marketplace."

The order reflects the efforts by Prodeo's newly organized worldwide sales and representative organization, said Colvin, who noted that the semiconductor industry in China is expected to increase dramatically, with China's national objective being to provide 50 percent of the world's semiconductor products during the next decade.

According to Colvin, industry experts predict that China's semiconductor capital spending will jump to $5 billion by 2005. "This is a tremendous opportunity for the industry and for Prodeo," said Colvin.

Prodeo's furnace product offerings range from the H6101 Single Tube Laboratory Applications Furnace, which can process up to 150mm wafers in a 10-inch flat zone, to the high-volume manufacturing capability of the H6404 Four Stack High Volume Production Furnace with its 40-inch flat zone, computer control and boat loading system.

Other models include the H6202 Two Stack and H6204 Four Stack Small Batch Small Footprint Furnace systems with 20-inch flat zones. Each is available with the Prodeo UHP gas delivery system. These smaller systems are focused primarily on the emerging needs of MEMS, ASIC and optical component device manufacturers.
